Meet Jianna! Jianna was born on Dec 9th, 2004. She is a loving, caring, kind, and creative girl. At two months old, she was put into a foster home and suffered a traumatic brain injury from shaken-baby syndrome. Jianna ended up in the hospital and was subsequently diagnosed with hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy. She has been in physical and occupational therapy most of her life to increase her strength and range of motion. Since her right leg is one inch shorter than the other it affects her balance. She struggles with being independent and being alone. Jianna also struggles with anxiety. We believe a service dog will bring a sense of security and comfort to Jianna.
Jianna is going into her junior year of high school. She is a self-published author and a self-taught Graphic Designer. She wishes to go to college. She wants to have independence. For her to succeed, a service dog will help her on her journey going from a kid to an adult. We want what is best for Jianna and she has great confidence that a service dog will be an integral part of her transition. Her persistence has led us to W.A.G.S. for Kids! For years she has been planning her independence and where she wants to be, but the only thing she needs now is a service dog!
Jianna plans to have the service dog go to college with her. She believes the dog will help with multiple tasks and transitions around the house. She feels the dog can give her comfort and happiness. The service dog will bring joy to her family, knowing that Jianna will have a companion to keep her happy and safe.
