Our sweet & loving Tyler is 5-years-old and has been diagnosed with Autism while also showing signs of Sensory Processing Disorder. Although it took some time to fully diagnose, Tyler was diagnosed just over one year ago despite showing signs from an earlier age. Over the past year, Tyler has progressed in so many ways but he still has many mountains to climb!
Tyler is the happiest little guy that loves cuddling and playing, however, at times he gets very frustrated due to his lack of verbal communication. Although Tyler is nonverbal, he is able to use an iPad to communicate many of his needs and wants – an amazing piece of technology that we were blessed to have received.
The benefits that Tyler would gain from a service dog would be astounding. Beside the fact that he loves animals, the service dog would teach him how to form a bond so special and unique. This would help to improve his skills on forming relationships that he can carry over into social settings with his peers and other adults.
Tyler has, at many times, darted away from us in certain situations where he feels overwhelmed, frightened, excited, or frustrated. He is unaware of the danger he could face from darting away. If Tyler had a service dog with him, it would be more difficult for him to wander off and find himself in dangerous situations. This dog can help Tyler stay safe and qualm some of our typical parent concerns.
We are asking you to help us – specifically to help Tyler by raising the funds needed to bring his dog home. If you are willing, please donate in Tyler's name and be a part of making this real for him. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you in advance for taking the time to read our story and considering our little man’s future.
