The holidays are - busy! In January of 2021, at 5-years-old, Jackson's life was busy with a busy brain that was "simply organized a bit differently than most". He lives with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, & ADHD. It was Jackson's heart of gold and unmatched love of dogs that left his parents hopeful that his busy body & mind's need for a calm, constant presence could be found in a service dog and foster a stronger sense of indepence.
For our family, this dog will provide hope. Hope for more social interaction with peers from Jackson, hope for more independence as he gets older, hope for more mood stability for him, and hope for more quality time as a family not spent worrying constantly about Jackson’s struggles on outings.
- Elise, Jackson's Mom
It was just before Christmas 2022 when Jackson met Piper for the first time.
Since then they've had moments of joy ....
And moments of comfort....
"We have been incredibly pleased with Piper. She is truly amazing and such a great resource for Jackson. He adores her and her him!"
As they celebrate their one year anniversary together - we are grateful for the honor to watch these kids grow up and grow together for many seasons to come!
I look forward to sharing another Thankful Thanksgiving with you next Thursday and every Thursday this November thru Thanksgiving.
